Benzoin is derived from a resin that is extracted from the Benzoin tree, which grows in Java, Sumatra and Thailand. It grows up to 8 meters (20 feet) in height, and it is extracted by cutting into the trunk of the tree to collect the oozing sap. The benzoin tincture has a characteristic sweet, balsamic, vanilla like scent. The Benzoin Tincture is for external use only, and is suitable as a mild stimulant and as an antiseptic. While it has some preservative values it cannot be relied upon to completely protect your product. Please use in combination with other preservative systems to ensure your product is safe.
